In the spring of 2001, Elad's father and Elad's friend Guy persuaded Elad to attend a conference at Biola University in La Mirada, CA about the recent fighting between the Israelis and Palestinians. Finding a wife was the last thing on his mind to say the least. Elad was only trying to appease his friend Guy who was convinced a trip to Biola would be a mind blowing American adventure complete with drunk women and bras flying out the dorm windows. As they approached the school, the large cross was the first indication the experience might be different than they anticipated. They were, however already on campus, and they drove over an hour to get there, so they stayed. At the end of the evening, Elad and Guy invited my friend Kim, Hadas, and I to go out, but we were not interested. I thought they were a bit young, and it seemed they still needed to sew their wild oats. But we would meet again. Thankfully, Elad was not too upset over our last meeting, so he and I danced the night away at a Yom Haatsmaut party at the Bar Fly in Los Angeles. At this party, he invited me to play beach vollyball one Saturday, and this time I said yes. But we never actually played. He called and called and called, but I didn't call him back (yet). And we would meet again at a mutual friend's b-day party, and again (thankfully) he was not too upset over me not returning his calls. We were about to make plans to meet up, and the police came to break up the party. Everyone scattered and we lost each other. But this time I called him. We talked for a bit, and then Elad said lets meet. I lived in Brea and he lived in Los Angeles, so we met half way and talked until the place closed. And then we dated and Amy broke up with Elad and dated and Amy broke up with Elad and dated and Amy broke up with Elad and then Elad proposed on Thanksgiving Day 2002. We were then married in Beverly Hills on April 17, 2003 and again on December 24, 2003. We also celebrated our marriage in Buckeye on April 7, 2004.
